Tru Collective Agreement
The agreement covers approximately 900 faculty members represented by the Federation of Local 2 Post-Secondary Ecoducs. Members work on the two main campuses, Kamloops and Williams Lake, as teachers, consultants, librarians and teaching support. The two sides have been negotiating since February 4, 2015, but have not reached an agreement. Given that the two parties have failed to reach an agreement, it is likely that trade union actions will be put in place soon within the framework of LA.
Both Tru and TRUFA have the right to act during collective bargaining and union action can take many forms. These may be small interruptions in the other party`s administrative operations or a global strike or lockout that would stop all university operations or most university operations. You can also access the travel expense application form in accordance with TRU`s travel policy: TRU-OL waives tuition for two TRU-OL courses in Schedule „B“ of the TRU/TRUOLFA collective agreement for all four-month periods when you have completed your trial period. The maximum number of courses for which there is no tuition fee is six per year. Education exemptions are a taxable benefit if the course is not a prerequisite for your position and is declared by the finance department on your Q4. If the course is a condition of your position, the waiver is not taxable. The three-year contract runs until March 31, 2022 and is retroactive to April 1, 2019, with annual salary increases of 2 per cent over the life of the contract in accordance with the provincial government`s negotiating mandate for sustainable services.
